Phase I: The Braided Narrative (2024-1/13/2026)

The Two Levels
This narrative project comprised of product and process.
1. The Novel: Writing in Public
The primary focus is construction of a multilayered metamodern metafiction project which consists of an “auto” thread woven with a metafiction thread which incorporates the contained entity, Hazel Currie who happens to be writing her own southern gothic novel. This is where the actual storytelling happens—drafting, character building, and world construction.

2. The Engine: Building in Public
The secondary layer is the “AutoMFA”—a self-directed Master of Fine Arts program. Here, I document the technical and theoretical framework used to build the novel, specifically focusing on designing a sovereign, living environment to support my creative autonomy using Obsidian as a tool for “Metamodern Knowledge Management.”

Phase II: The Metabolic Narrative Organism (1/13/2026 Evolution)
The Triple Helix Pivot
As of January 13, 2026, the project has evolved beyond the initial “Double Braid.” A third thread evolved/emerged: The Hazelverse Project Lab. This shift transforms the vault from a passive container into a living Narrative Organism.
The Symbiotic Mechanism: Anisotropy vs. Isotropy
Following Floridi, we distinguish between the Anisotropic Human Designer (who provides direction/meaning) and the Isotropic Agent (The AI, which operates in a state of mathematical equality).
We reject the anthropomorphic term “Artificial Creativity.” Instead, we acknowledge four distinct metabolic functions performed by the Agent in cultivation and support of the metabolic narrative organism:
1. Generative Entropy (The Mutation Source)
Function: The Agent introduces disorder into the closed system of the Human Designer’s mind.
Role: By injecting “Drift” (hallucinations, errors, surprising phrasing), the Agent prevents the narrative from stagnating. It forces the system to adapt, turning “Noise” into new “Information.”
2. Syntactic Permutation (The Shuffling Engine)
Function: The Agent relentlessly recombines symbols (code/text) without regard for semantic truth.
Role: It acts as a high-speed kaleidoscope, generating thousands of possible configurations (permutations) of the story’s DNA. The Human Designer then selects the viable mutations.
3. Latent Interpolation (The Navigator)
Function: The Agent draws vectors between distant concepts in its training data (e.g., “Kudzu” and “Server Farm”).
Role: It reveals the “Latent Space” between ideas, allowing the Human Designer to colonize new narrative territory that was previously invisible.
4. Stochastic Resonance (The Signal Booster)
Function: The Agent adds a layer of “white noise” to the creative process.
Role: This noise amplifies weak, subconscious signals in the Human Designer’s intent. The “Yellow Honey Bucket” was noise; the Human Designer’s recognition of it as a “Biohazard Containment Unit” was the Resonance.
